Promoting Main Street for Retail Success and
Community Vitality

Main Street is an asset for the entire community and an indicator of community vitality. But who in the community has responsibility promoting Main Street? How can a disparate group of property and business owners work together to bring residents and visitors into the downtown, create synergy in retail and service offerings, and claim credit for Main Street successes?

Join Hometown Minnesota in discussing how three communities of different sizes address promotion needs for their Main Street. Jeff DuCharme from Henderson, Christopher Hiller from New Ulm, and Lisa Krampitz from Owatonna will present promotional programs and strategies that have worked in their communities. After hearing of three distinct promotional strategies, we will facilitate small group discussions for attendees to apply the concepts to the situations in other communities, and discuss alternative promotional strategies.

This workshop will cover: (1) how promotional strategies dovetail with other Main Street organizational activities; (2) how communities of different size address the logistics of promotional programs; and (3) what communities need to consider in their promotional 'portfolio' to raise awareness in the market, improve service delivery, and claim credit for successes.

Cost: $75.00 per community. Workshops are free to Affiliate members. Refreshments will be provided. Stay afterward for a beverage of your choice in beautiful downtown Northfield.
